Brief & Context
A robust, calm living environment is established through a prefabricated residential form designed to prioritise safety, clarity, and everyday comfort in Bathurst. Delivered as a new-built two two-bedroom Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) project, the architecture provides a secure, low-stress setting that supports independence within a controlled and reliable domestic framework.

Challenge & Intent
The core challenge involved coordinating with prefabricated wall and roof manufacturers while adapting pre-purchased housing modules to accommodate two SDA participants per dwelling. Accessibility requirements informed both building and site design, driving precise adjustments to entries, circulation, and parking to achieve NDIS Robust category.

Lifestyle & Experience
Internal planning is organised around an open kitchen, living, and dining space that supports ease of movement and shared daily routines. The layout provides clear spatial legibility, minimising obstacles and transitions to create a stable, protective environment tailored to SDA needs. External access points are carefully aligned with site levels to ensure safe, direct, and dignified arrival for residents and carers.

Prefabricated insulated wall and roof panels ensure consistency, performance, and speed of construction. Double-glazed windows enhance thermal and acoustic comfort, while rendered and painted walls with featured vertical battens introduce texture and visual clarity. The result is a resilient housing solution that supports care, safety, and long-term operational reliability.
