Brief & Context
Set above the water at Kurraba Point, this penthouse alteration establishes a warm, contemporary atmosphere shaped by expanded views and a stronger connection to the harbour. The project reshapes an existing high-end apartment to better support family life while maintaining a calm, refined presence within its coastal setting.

Challenge & Intent
The primary challenge was unlocking wider water views while converting a compartmentalised layout into a functional open-plan living environment. This required careful coordination of new structural support to replace removed load-bearing walls, alongside the introduction of a roof extension over the terrace to improve usability and weather protection.

Lifestyle & Experience
A reconfigured kitchen, living, and dining area now operates as a single, fluid space that supports shared family routines and long-term living. Enlarged window openings draw daylight and water views deeper into the apartment, strengthening the visual connection to the harbour while improving internal comfort. The layout supports age-in-place living by reducing thresholds, clarifying circulation, and allowing flexible use over time.

Structural upgrades enable uninterrupted internal spaces, while the roof extension transforms the terrace into a more dependable outdoor room. Together, these interventions create a balanced penthouse environment that prioritises openness, outlook, and durability for everyday family life.
